Actor Tom Sturrage was born in Lambeth on 10th December 1985. His biggest role to date is that of Dream / Morpheus in the Netflix fantasy series based on Neil Gaiman's cult Sandman graphic novel series. His first film role was as a child actor, alongside his sister Matilda Sturrage in 'Fairy Tale: A True Story', directed by their father, Charles Sturrage. Another child role was in Ted Danson's 1996 TV mini series 'Gulliver's Travels'. He played Sir John Everett Millais in the 2014 movie 'Effie Gray', about the relationship between John Ruskin and Effie Gray, and Lord Byron in 2015's 'Mary Shelley'.Character actor Harry Fowler was born in Lambeth on the 10th of December 1926. From humble beginnings as a paper seller earning ten shillings a week he went on to appear in over 200 films and TV shows over six decades. He appeared alongside West Norwood born Susan Shaw in the 1956 scifi movie 'Fire Maidens from Outer Space' and in the Doctor Who serial 'Remembrance of the Daleks', filmed on location around Waterloo's Roupel Street Conservation area.15th December 1964 marks the birth date of Paul Kaye. Born in Clapham, he and his twin sister were adopted by a couple who ran a sportswear shop in Wembley. He first came to public attention with his character Dennis Pennis, who would deliberately offend the celebrities he tried to interview. His fantastical roles include the Caterpillar in 'Malice in Wonderland',  Brother Lucius in 'Dracula Untold',  Heimish in 'The Offering', Vinculus in 'Jonathan Strange and Mister Norrell,' and Thoros of Myr in 'Game of Thrones'.Actress Patricia Hayes was born in Streatham on 22nd December 1909. Amongst her iconic roles are Edna the Inebriate Woman and Alf Garnet's neighbour, Mrs Evans in Till Death Do Us Part.  She played Hecate, Queen of Necromancy in the 1972 Goodies' episode 'That Old Black Magic' and appeared in the 1967 horror movie 'The Terrornauts'. She also appeared in two blockbuster fantasy movies of the 1980s - as Urgl in 'The Neverending Story' (1984) and Fin Raziel in 'Willow' (1988).

Marking the 60th Anniversary of the Daleks

Doctor Who marked its 60th Anniversary on 23rd November. A month later, on the 21st December 1963 his arch enemies, The Daleks, made their first appearance. Join me on this guided walk marking their 60th Anniversary and exploring their history and cultural impact.
