Welcome to My Walks
Hi,
My name is David. I am a writer of science fiction, horror and fantasy. My dystopian novella, HUSks is set in London in the near future. My middle grade fantasy novel The Dragon Breath Chronicles takes you to another world entirely. One which is dominated by dragons and airships. My blog about short stories I have written for various Gravestone press horror anthologies can be found here https://fiction4all.com/writerdavidturnbull.htm?inc=6
I am also an accredited tour guide with the Lambeth Tour Guides Association, whose logo you can see above. This has given me the opportunity to combine my love of scifi, horror and fantasy by designing a series of walks based on movies, TV shows, novels, comics, writers and actors linked to Lambeth.
Lambeth Fantastical Epic Trilogy
These are my core walks. Designed as a trilogy. Each walk is just under two hours. But you don't have to do all three. Dates will be available soon.
Part One - Waterloo in Time and Relative Dimensions - Including Doctor Who, Daleks, Judge Dredd, Blakes 7, War of the Worlds. Giant arachnids as an added bonus.
Part Two - Vauxhall from Interplanetary HQ to Alien Invasions - Starting at Arthur C Clarke House Headquarters of the British Interplanetary Society and ending with Daleks, zombie and triffids on Westminster Bridge. Along the way meet a Brazilian scifi artist, a Hindu Gothic scholar and a pioneer of early fantasy fiction
Part Three - Herne Hill - Diabolical Plots and Fantastic Journey - Fu Manchu, Planet of the Apes, Varney the Vampire, The Twighlight zone, Regency fantasy and more.
Other Walks
Sunday Matinee - Classic movies filmed in and around Waterloo, with a stellar cast, including Richard Widmark, Vivien Lee, Alastair Sim, John Mills, Stewart Granger, Stanley Holloway. Margaret Rurherford and many more.
National Poetry Day - The stories of poets and their poems from Wordsworth to Windrush, war poets, the International Brigades, navvies, dub and calypso.
Halloween Horror - Is it trick or a treat? Ghost, ghouls, witches and werewolves
